Think About It

My hobby is people watching.  No, not the creepy stalkery kind of people watching.  I like to observe human behavior and interactions.  And on occasion, I will overhear some conversations.  By the way, just as an FYI, be careful what you discuss in public…I have overheard social security numbers, intimate secrets about illicit activities, credit card numbers, and so much more.

One of the discussions I have heard over and over deal with stress and anxiety.  People are so stressed out about what has already happened or what could happen in the future.  While I, too, struggle with this from time to time, for the most part I have reached the point in life, being that I am quite the fossil if my coworkers have any expertise, whereby I focus on Today!

You see, if we spend today looking backwards to yesterday, then we are focused on events which cannot be changed. Thus, we are wasting Today because we are focused on Yesterday.  It we spend today worrying about tomorrow, then we are wasting Today because we are focused on events that have not, as yet, occurred.  The ONLY day we should focus is Today!  Why? Because TODAY is the only time we can change.  And whatever changes we make TODAY will not alter yesterday, but will alter tomorrow.

Think about that for a minute.
